The mission of the Diablo Scorpion Lacrosse Club is to instill positive life lessons for all participants through teamwork, working towards common goals, personal development, competition and most of all having fun at various skill levels and age.

Coaches Code of Conduct

I understand my responsibilities as a youth coach are of great importance and my actions have the potential to significantly influence the youth athletes I coach. Therefore, I promise to uphold the following Coaches Code of Conduct.
  • I will conduct myself in accordance with the Code of Conduct all times; understanding there will be consequences if I fail to do so.
  • I will treat each athlete, opposing coach, parent and official with respect and dignity regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.
  • I will be prepared for all practices and games and teach the fundamental skills, so that all athletes have an opportunity to improve their skills through active participation.
  • I will uphold the authority of officials who are assigned to the game in which I coach and I will assist them in every way to conduct a fair and impartial contest.
  • I will cooperate with the league in the enforcement of rules and regulations, and I will report all suspected violation any rules, regulations and/or policies.
  • I will not use profanity.
  • I will not use drugs or alcohol while at a league event and will not attend, coach, officiate or participate in a league event while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • I will not encourage my players or any other person, to initiate a fight and/or argue with any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any attendee.
  • I will not engage in verbal or physical threats or abuse aimed at any coach, parent, player participant official or any other attendee.
  • I will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any coach, parent, player, participant,  official or any other attendee.
  • I will not encourage any behavior which would endanger the health, safety, or well being of any coach, parent, player, participant, official or any other attendee.
  • I will complete and maintain all requirements for coaching as determined by my club and the league, including, but not limited to, PCA Double Goal Coach course completion, US Lacrosse Level 1 Online Coaches course completion, pass a league certified background check, maintain league mandated memberships, by the required due dates.
  • I also agree that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I will be subject to disciplinary action that might include, but is not limited to, the following:
1. Verbal warning from an official, head coach, my club and/or the league;
2. Written warning from my club and/or the league;
3. Suspension or immediate ejection from a game by an official, my club and/or the league;
4. Game forfeit through the official or coach.
5. Suspension from coaching in the NCJLA. Return to coaching can and is subject to current NCJLA rules and club rules.
  • I also understand the all documentation of all incidents shall kept on file by organizations involved.
